Another Paris Fashion Week has come and gone and as usual – it was a fabulous chic fashion circus.
One of my favourite parts is getting to see the international fashion staples in action – men and women from all over the world wearing amazing clothing with the exquisite backdrop of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Paris!
The street style in Paris is always inspiring, but during Fashion Week it reaches another level! And as always, it’s great to see so many designers being worn all over Paris Fashion Week – Balenciaga, Peter Pilotto, Carven, Ek Thongprasert, Valentino, Alaia, Rick Owens, Saint Laurent, Mary Katrantzou just to name a few!
Some of my favourite street style shots from Paris Fashion Week AW13 were taken by good friend & glambassador – la shooting star behind & in front any fashion camer – la chic Candice Lake.
Here are a selection of some of my favourite shots that Candice took….
Italy’s Grazia stylist Elisa Nalin, All the Pretty Birds blogger Tamu McPherson and casting agent and blogger Natalie Joos looking happy to be at Paris Fashion Week. All three ladies look wonderful and really show off major trends at the moment; florals and lace. I also love the red Stella McCartney shoe – it adds a great pop of colour to the outfit!
Fashion IT girl Miroslava Duma in the Tuilleries wearing an ensemble by up-and-coming London design duo Ostwald Helgason.
Wearing a bowler hat, tuxedo style sleeveless jacket and pants and a pair of Saint Laurent brogues, this women spotted on the streets of Paris, typifies Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent woman.
The two-toned suit worn by Marina Larroude is on trend this season – it’s all about colour blocking!
Going for a luxe sporty look in between shows, this woman pairs her pink Nike Free Run shoes with a printed pink and green sleeveless jacket, baby pink trousers and a hot pink bag.
Keeping warm against the chilly Paris weather, this woman leaving a runway show, pairs a pale mauve wool coat and navy pants with a great pair of heels and a statement bag for an understated (but still colourful) chic look.
Australian designer Kym Ellery in the Tuilleries on her way to a runway show looking amazing with a two-toned Celine Clutch and chunky accessories.
Love the pastel colour palette that blogger Anne-Catherine Frey spotted in the Tuilleries on the way to the Carven show has used to put her outfit together. Wearing a Carven map skirt, this woman has incorporated cream, baby blue, green and violet in her outfit for a muted but edgy look.
In the Tuilleries again, this woman makes a statement in all white, with metallic detailing in her gold clutch bag and silver heels.
Loving the Balenciaga Giant Envelope bag in this red colour – it makes the other colours of her outfit, black white and yellow, really pop! The black and white skewed houndstooth print of her coat is great as it takes a traditional print and makes it new!
In an all leather ensemble, this woman, manages to make wearing head to toe leather look super chic. With inserts of white and purple in the panelling of the jacket and pants, this woman shys away from the biker look and instead chooses to play with proportion and make us rethink how to wear leather. Finishing the outfit she pairs her outfit with a pair of great white heels with metallic detailling at the toe.
Spotted in between runway shows, journalist Stephanie La Cava wears a cherry red Carven coat and pairs her very lady-like coat with a pair of chunky gladiator-style wedges.
Finally, here is Miroslava Duma again outside the Chanel show, wearing head to toe Chanel! Mixing denim with leather, Miroslava would have made Uncle Karl proud in this classic Chanel outfit with a twist.
|Make sure to stay tuned for my next blog post which are dedicated to my BANGKOK FASHION WEEK, attending with my lovely friends Zigi & Marcel last week in March 2013, and will give you a sneak peak into all of my trend hunting appointments and ELLE FASHION WEEK time in Bangkok!|

What’s more fun than vintage shopping? It’s like a modern day treasure hunt for that perfect, one-of-a-kind piece, that just calls out “buy me”. But of course, you need to know where to look. Lucky for you, we’ve done our legwork at Untapped Cities and compiled a list of what we consider to be the best vintage spots in MANHATTAN.
And when I say vintage, I don’t mean thrift shopping. Thrift shopping implies old Ann Taylor Loft jackets found at the bottom of a bargain bin. Vintage implies both age and quality, I don’t consider anything made after 1985 to really be “vintage”, no matter how much people tell me that “the 90s are back!” I have, however, chosen to include several consignment and resale shops that do often carry vintage pieces.
So read, enjoy, and most importantly, shop!
Amarcord/252 Lafayette Street/ The Soho branch of this vintage fashion house focuses on European designers such as Missoni, YSL, Mugler (you know, all the good ones). With super helpful staff and a nice open layout, it’s easy to spend hours browsing in this downtown spot. (Women and Menswear)
Edith Machinist/104 Rivington Street/ Walk down a couple steps and find yourself in vintage shoe heaven. Shoes, boots, and bags cover nearly every surface with their perfectly worn leather. The focus is definitely on the accessories, but be sure to check out the clothes too, I’ve bought some great pieces here. (Womenswear)

Narnia Vintage/161 Rivington Street/ I always find something I love in this tiny store on Rivington. Their look tends toward the urban nomadic feel with lots of supple leathers, fringe, and chevron patterns. Featuring a killer mix of consignment and vintage pieces, it’s hard to leave this place empty handed. (Womenswear)
Ritual Vintage/ 377 Broome St/ If you’re looking for truly vintage pieces, from the 1910s-1940s, this is the place to come. Best of all, the pieces are all still wearable and in good condition. There’s also a selection of newer designer pieces, but the strength really lies in the older stuff. (Womenswear)
What goes Around Comes Around/ 351 West Broadway/ One of the pricier vintage stores you will find, but expect that extra cash to buy unforgettable pieces and excellent service. It’s like the buyers know how to buy the perfect example of every vintage piece- the perfect denim jacket, the perfect sweater, the perfect gauzy dress. Definitely ask the shopgirls about lower priced pieces, because they are still pretty awesome even if they don’t carry a designer tag. (Women and Menswear)

Scarves are to winter as sandals are to summer—in other words: you can never have too many of this season essential.
An important part of any cold-weather wardrobe, these cozy add-ons are an easy way to add warmth and interest to your ensemble. Whether you take the playful route with vivid colors, seek a more sophisticated alternative with heartwork prints and combined textures or choose to double up styles for a cool layered look, it’s always good to have a variety of options at hand to rotate throughout the season.
